LIFE IS A BEACH

In addition to a quiet, secluded beach at your door step, you have your pick of some of the best beaches on Maui. Kahana Beach offers great swimming for the entire family. Napili Bay Beach is just a few minutes north and has some of the best snorkeling conditions on the west side. Just beyond Napili is the famous Kapalua Bay Beach which has been rated the #1 Beach in American twice! Also minutes away are Flemings Beach, great for surfing and boogie boarding, and Honolua Bay, a natural marine life sanctuary. It is not uncommon to wake up to morning rainbows over the water, to witness humpback whales as they breach and frolic off of our shoreline (in season), or spot resident sea turtles lazily floating out in front of our grassy knoll all from the comfort of your lanai. You might also catch site of a parasailer.

ISLAND ACTIVITIES

We recommend booking the big activities like horseback riding, helicopter rides, deep see fishing excursions in advance and filling the rest of your time visiting the local beaches, galleries, and shopping venues.

kahana_0008_Layer-13Rent snorkel equipment at any of the Dive Shops close by. About five minutes up the coast you can swim with sea turtles and snorkel in Turtle Bay or continue to Napili Bay or Honolua Bay for a snorkeling experience. There are many snorkel tours that go to Molokini Crater or Lanai.

kahana_0000_Layer 9 Want to horseback ride above the clouds and then into a valcano? Visit Haleakula Valcano for a truly breathtaking experience. Ironwood Ranch is another venue that offers beautiful scenic rides just minutes from Kahana Outrigger.

kahana_0002_Layer 7 Take a hike to the blow hole and heart rock. It only takes twenty minutes to get to both but the hike is very rocky so if you have bad knees take your time. It is worth every step.
lahainaMaui has a variety of shopping experiences to offer. Whalers Village and the Lahaina Outlet Stores offer upscale shopping or stroll down Front Street in Lahaina to find that special souvenir, piece of jewelry or Aloha shirt for that special someone back home. Saturday and Sunday offer local craft fairs you won’t want to miss.

We stayed at this gorgeous location from 9/17 to 9/26/14. It was best vacation we have ever had. The location is perfect with a view of the ocean. The condo is in excellent condition and equal or better than the residence of probably the majority of those who would call this place their temporary home. It has everything you could possibly need, including beach towels and toys for the ocean. The living room ceiling has numerous skylights which allow you to view the stars when laying in the loft bedroom. There is also beautiful stain glass in the master bedroom which glimmers with the morning sunshine. Open the windows and sleep to the sound of the ocean. The amenities of the condo include a swimming pool and barbecue grill. (The owners even included an infant highchair and stow away bed. They leave nothing for the imagination of what you could possibly need.) Bring the food and wine in and you could stay and have a great time without leaving the property. If you can pull yourself away, the condo is located only miles from Lahaina, which is the center of activity on this side of the island.

This townhouse more than met our expectations. It pleased our family of 9 that ranged in age from 9 to 87. The location is ideal for everything. Whale watching was breathtaking. Playing on the beach and in the pool were highlights for our kids. Being close to many exciting activities was superb. The snuba trip was much more than expected. The hosts of this house were more than helpful and kind. This is the best place on earth! We’ll be back to explore some more!
